Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County - Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County - The Ventura County affiliate was founded in 1983 and is the oldest affiliate in California.
With the support of individual gifts, home sponsorships, and volunteer labor, Habitat has built 51 simple, decent homes, in partnership with deserving families. Since 1983, over 500 houses have been rehabilitated. Our current construction projects include a three-bedroom home in Thousand Oaks on the corner of Hillcrest and Houston and two four-bedroom homes on Temescal Street in Piru.
Future projects include 12 single-family units on Cypress Road in Oxnard, two single-family homes on Stroube Street in Oxnard, and four single-family units in Santa Paula. Construction costs for each housing unit are approximately $150,000, excluding the value of donated land.
With so many wonderful opportunities coming up, we need the help of caring hearts, concerned minds, donations of time and money, and helping hands in all aspects of our organization
Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County is a non-profit, ecumenical housing organization that builds houses in partnership with people in need of adequate housing. Homeowners are selected based on their need for housing, ability to repay a non-profit loan, and willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity. Loan repayments contribute to help build additional houses. Because Habitat’s loans are no-profit, they are affordable for low-income family partners.
Success is realized in the clearance of blighted property, the faces of the children safely playing in their new homes and yards.
Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County office is located at 167 Lambert Street in Oxnard. Contact our office at (805) 485-6065 with any questions.
