There are two great Thousand Oaks libraries; the Grant R. Brimhall Library at 1401 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks (805.449.2660) and the local Newbury Park Branch is at 2331 Borchard Road (805.498.2139).  These libraries provide year-round free events, activities and programs for all ages. 2024 City of Camarillo 4th of July Fireworks at the Camarillo Premium Outlets

The City of Camarillo proudly presents the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show hosted at the Camarillo Premium Outlet parking lots. This FREE community event is open to the public and provides a safe and fun filled evening to enjoy the fireworks display from the comfort of your vehicle. The show is set to promptly begin at 9:00 p.m.

Fireworks are best viewed from the Camarillo Premium Outlet parking lots and immediate surrounding areas. Tune in live to FM radio station 95.1 KBBY to listen to the fireworks soundtrack while you watch the show.

Please note the following:

  •     Plan to arrive early to park. Spaces are first-come, first-serve, and cannot be reserved.

  •     Road closures will go into effect at 8:45 p.m. with no vehicle entry access to the parking lots after that time.

  •     This is a smoke-free event, and no alcohol or illegal substances is permitted under any circumstance.

  •     For your safety and protection, please refrain from bringing large picnic setups.

2024 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular and Other Fun Events in Thousand Oaks

The 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, coordinated by the Conejo Recreation and Park District, The City of Thousand Oaks and other local sponsors, takes place on the hill behind the Hillcrest Center of the Arts in Thousand Oaks. Fireworks start at 9 p.m., with a great view from Janss Marketplace and The Oaks mall parking lots and surrounding areas!  Patriotic music simulcast by KHAY 100.7 FM.

150th Anniversary Ventura County Fair to Take Place July 31 to August 11, 2024

The 2024 Ventura County Fair will take place July 31 to August 11 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 W. Harbor Boulevard in Ventura.

Parking at the Ventura County Fair is $20.00 per car. Parking at the Fairgrounds is limited. Free shuttle buses are provided from the Ventura Government Center, Pacific View Mall, Ventura Community Park, Ventura High School and San Buenaventura State Beach (with parking fee). The fair opens at noon on weekends and opening day and at 1pm on other weekdays. Midway closes no later than midnight and not before 11pm.

Wednesday, July 31 – $3 before 3pm

Friday, August 2 – Youth Day - All Ventura County Fair visitors ages 12 and under will be admitted free all day with paid adult admission.

Monday, August 5 – 805 Day $5 admission before 5pm.

Tuesday, August 6 – Seniors & Persons with Disabilities Day - All Ventura County Fair visitors ages 65 or better and disabled persons and one companion will be admitted free all day. Gates will open early at 11am this day only.

Thursday, August 8 – Military Appreciation Day and First Responder Day - All military with current, valid ID and first responders admitted free.

Friday, August 9 - Food Share Day

Carnival Wristband Days will be August 1, 6 and 7. $45 for ride wristbands that can be used until 7pm these days.

Regular fair hours are 12pm to 12am daily

33rd Annual Ventura County Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration in Oxnard on Saturday, June 15, 2024

Ventura County’s 33rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration is planned for Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 10am to 5pm at Plaza Park, 500 South C Street in Oxnard. Free event commemorates Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, marking the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. Event to feature live music, local artists, great food and more. 2024 City of Agoura Hills Summer Concerts in the Park - June through August

The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services and the DIY Home Center present the 2024 Summer Concerts in the Park. Concerts are held at 6pm on Sundays and are free of charge. (Donations are encouraged.)

All concerts will be held at Chumash Park, 5550 Medea Valley Drive, Agoura Hills, with the exception of the July 21st concert that will be held at the Agoura Hills High PAEC at 28545 W. Driver Avenue.

Singing, dancing, drumming, flute music, arts, crafts, jewelry, food, cultural demonstrations and information. Everyone is welcome. Free admission. A family friendly, outdoor gathering.

Spend your summer Sundays with great live music at the 2024 Summer Sun Sets Concert Series at Calabasas Lake

The traditionally private Calabasas Lake opens its doors to concert goers, providing a scenic backdrop and ample field seating for picnickers. The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and sweaters. Some fixed seating is available on a first come first served basis. All performances are free to the public.

2024 Regal Theaters Summer Movie Express ($1 Movies) in Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Simi Valley

Regal Theaters presents its Summer Movie Express 2024. Moviegoers of all ages can climb aboard to enjoy a great selection of films. During the summer, select Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatres will offer selected G or PG rated movies for only $1 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at designated time frames. Both movies play both days. Summer Movie Express 2024 runs June 11 to August 7.
